Visit of Principal Secretary- Industries Govt. of Maharashtra Mr. Apurva Chandra to MIDC Ranjangaon: - 13th February-2015 at FIAT

An interactive meeting between Principle Secretary and RIA Member industries was organized on. Following issues were discussed:-

  1. Mathadi Act: - The intention of this act was to protect the interest of unprotected labour in the unorganized sector. The word factory was inserted afterwards, especially for textiles & steel industries. However, subsequently extended to other factories also. Actually factories are handling there loading and unloading work with mechanized equipment with no involvement of manual labour. Still the industries and mathadi inspectors are under pressure of the goons and such other influential people. It was RIAs demand to exempt such industries from Mathadi act.
  2. Electricity Tariff: - The Electricity charges are 40% to 60% higher than other states in India. The electricity charges are major/significant contributor to the manufacturing cost. RIA requested the government of Maharashtra to reduced electricity charges at par with other state. This will help our industries, to increase their contribution to Make in India.
  3. Traffic Problem: - People are working in Ranjangaon MIDC, face hardships in commuting between Ranjangaon and Pune. Narrow road, No traffic control and unauthorized parking on sides of the road, No road cross over bridges or underpass thus posing very high risk to pedestrians. This increases travelling time of our employees by 2 to 3 hours, this is huge loss of productive time to our country. RIA highlighted the need to streamline the traffic to reduce travelling time.

Meeting with Shri. Saurabh Rao, Dist. Collector, Pune: - 13th May-2015 at FIAT.

District collector called a meeting of industries in Ranjangaon MIDC to discuss issues pertaining to "Ease to do business”, the Govt. of Maharashtra’s Initiative on Water conservation i.e. Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan & CSR Projects were discussed. A total 59 member industries participated in this programe. Further the district administration has constituted a committee to look into the various issues raised by the industrial units in Ranjangaon MIDC, pertaining to daily traffic congestion on the Nagar Road, and frequent incidents of thefts and lack of basic infrastructures.

Meeting with Dr. Jai Jadhav –SP Rural, Pune: - 26th June-2015 at FIAT.

63 MIDC- Ranjangaon Industries Representatives and SP Rural with his team actively participated in the meeting. Issues related to Law and order situation in Ranjangaon MIDC, Traffic problem on Nagar road were discussed in detail. The SP assured all the member industries of his and his team’s full efforts in solving the issues.

Traffic Warden & Patrolling Vehicle:- 7th August-2015 at MIDC Ranjangaon Police Station

RIA kept its promise to fulfill a long standing request of the Police Department for a patrol vehicle and Wardens. A function was held at the Ranjagaon MIDC Police Station for the Handing over of the patrolling vehicle and traffic warden to police department in the presence of SP (Rural) Dr. Jay Jadhav .The SP assured us that it will facilitate to control the law and order situation in MIDC area as well control traffic on Nagar Road.

CETP Meeting with CE, SE-MIDC Chinchwad, Pune: - 26th Nov-2015 at Polyplastics Industries Pvt. Ltd.

It was reported that the existing CETP in Ranjangaon MIDC is not effective. Hence it was decided to upgrade the system. Three of our member industries - Polyplastic, Exotech and Pepsico are allowed to discharge their treated effluent to CETP. These three industries will contribute 25% of CAPEX and afterward the operating expenses will be shared by them. On behalf of our member industries RIA has given letter to this effect on 31.03.2016. RIA is acting only as a facilitator in this process and has no financial or administrative role in the CEPT.

CSR Meeting with RO-MIDC (Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan):- 23rd December-2015, at Whirlpool.

Some of our member industries are carrying out social work throughout the year as a part of their CSR activity. This year activity of Swacha Bharat Abhiyan with initiative of our P.M. and Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan with initiative our CM were started on a large scale. RO-MIDC and Dy. Collector Mr. Ajit Deshmukh discussed this with the RIA member industries. The officials appealed to the industries, to come forward to make these initiatives a success. They also presented a summary of work to be done in Shirur Taluka for the reference of industries.
